Event Description: The Space Coast Pops will present the 16th Annual Brevard's Young Performing Artists Competition on Sat. and Sun., June 9 and 10, 2012 at the Holiday Inn Melbourne/ Viera at I-95 (exit 191) and Wickham Rd.

The competition is from 11am to 4pm on Saturday and the Awards Luncheon and winner's performances are on Sunday from 1:30 tp 4pm.

The contestant must be a resident of Brevard County and an amateur, aged 20 or less. Application may be had by calling 632-7445. Applications must be postmarked no later than June 6, and enteries are limited to 32.

Performance categories are instrumental, vocal, and dance. The three professional judges are Dr. Candler Shaffer, Ken Moulton, and Deborah Dansby-Wells. The awards are $500 to 1st place, $300 to 2nd place, $200 to 3rd place, and $100 each to three runners-up. All of the contestans will receive a Certificate of Participation award.
